Every role supports athlete safety, flow, and atmosphere. Final assignments depend on experience, availability, language, and event needs.
Course marshal
Guide athletes and spectators, protect course boundaries, communicate incidents, and keep movement safe.
Obstacle support
Explain obstacle flow, observe attempts, apply event rules, and report safety concerns to the obstacle lead.
Hydration and athlete support
Prepare and distribute approved supplies while keeping aid areas clean, organized, and moving.
Finish line and medals
Celebrate finishers, distribute medals and refreshments, guide recovery flow, and reunite athletes with supporters.
Logistics and event hub
Support setup, signage, supplies, information points, cleanup, and the countless details that hold race day together.

The ZOO305 team will match accepted volunteers to a role, team leader, arrival time, and shift.

Read the role guide and attend any required online or on-site briefing before the event begins.

Show up for the crew
Arrive on time, check in with your lead, wear the provided identifier, and stay until formally released.

Volunteer FAQ
Do I need OCR experience?
Not for every role. Training and instructions will be provided. Rules, obstacle, medical, media, or specialist roles may require relevant experience.
Can I volunteer and race on the same day?
Possibly, depending on start waves and shift availability. Declare your race entry when registering interest so the crew team can determine whether a compatible assignment exists.
How old must volunteers be?
Age requirements are being finalized by role. Do not assume a minor can volunteer without advance approval and any required parent or guardian consent.
When will I receive my role?
Accepted volunteers will receive their role, shift, meeting point, clothing guidance, and briefing requirements before race weekend.
